Losing my appetite

OK - I’m nearing the end of Phase I and I’m finding that I’ve not justlost cravings for carbs but that I’ve lost most of my appetitegenerally. I just don’t feel hungry. I can sit down and eat a meal, but I’m eating much less at meals than I did before. Prior to startingon Phase I I’d wake up hungry for breakfast, now I’m not hungry for itand the idea of eating food early in the morning isn’t appealing tome. I know that under SB “breakfast is the most important meal of theday” but I don’t get cravings for bad carbs if I skip breakfast. I’mnot craving any food at all.

I am concerned that my metabolism is “slowing down” and that I’mburing fewer calories than I was before I started Phase I. Of courseI’m consuming fewer so this may not be a bad thing, but I’m curious tohear whether anyone else has a similar experience

i have had the same thing happen to me. when i first started phase 1, i was hungry all the time - i almost didn’t know if i was going to make it somedays. but now, i am not hungry - the cravings are gone, but i think i am burned out on on the good stuff too. i don’t know if my metabolism is slowing down, but i think i might just be bored.my weight loss has leveled off too. i think i will start walking or something, maybe that will boost my metabolism.

thanks. i lost another 2 pounds in my second week of Phase I - for atotal of 9 pounds in two weeks. my body fat percentage is declining aswell (at least that’s what the little gizmo tells me). i guess idon’t mind my metabolism slowing down so long as my appetite slowsdown with it.

i get out and walk for at least a half-hour every morning. nothingstrenous, but enough to get my heart going. i find it wakes me upbetter than a cup of coffee. i’m a recovering maraathoner, but ifound the hard training had my metabolism so stoked that i was hungryand craving bad high glycemic carbs all the time - to say nothing ofthe gatorade drinks we’re encouraged to consume while training. iactually ended up gaining a significant amount of weight whiletraining for my last marathon despite running 45-50 miles a week. ialso showed an unhealthy level of tryglicerides, which i understandcan arise from too much strenous training. i think that’s the pointat which i realized whatever i was doing to be “healthy” wasn’t working.

i’m going to have a bunch of blood work done on the 26th. i’ll beinterested to see if SB has improved my blood chemistry as Dr. Agatsonsuggests it should.
