Myke and I gave up caffeine the day we started Atkins almost one year ago.We may occasionally get some caffeine when we are drinking coffee at someoneelse’s home or in the occasional diet drink we have in a restaurant or in amixed drink, but we’re essentially “caffeine free” in this household. :)
We were big caffeine drinkers before LC and still drink as muchdecaffeinated coffee, but it didn’t seem to phase us other than the symptomswe had the first few days LC. We didn’t experience headaches like some do.

I don’t know that it helps our weight loss to go decaf, but we certainlywanted to follow the rules and we do feel very good!

I have one cup of coffee a day, caffeinated, and a caffeinated soft drinkabout twice a month.I have never completely eliminated it, so I don’t know what impact it has.

It actually hinders my weight loss and I don’t like it black. I should say Ididn’t like it black. Mochas were my favorites.

Yes, my headaches are less and less. I still get them but nothing like I didwhen I was drinking coffee. I am more alert now also and can remember thingsbetter. My over all day is more consistence now as far as how I feel. Foodtaste better to :-)

I HATE COKE.I suppose that helps to not acquire that addiction.I’m not a great coffee lover either, so that helps.Having said that, I don’t mind the odd cappucino when sitting in acoffee shop…..We have many outdoor cafes, so it is just a culture/ social thing togo for a coffee.I doubt if I would have more than one a week ( if that).I find that I do have a weight loss after a cappucino ( it acts as adiuretic), and it also solves the cravings for dessert.

The only caffeine I take in is cola-type drinks. I probably “indulge” twice aweek (with one 12oz to 24oz). However, I DON’T like Nutrasweet and my guiltvolume afterwards is hugh!(wondering what I’m doing to my brain) So, torectify my love of cherry Coke with my better sense, I bought DaVinci cola andcherry flavors and plain sparkling water = guilt free colas!

The only effect I’ve seen is water retention (a boost of energy for a shorttime) and sleeping problems if I drink it too late in the day. My “instinct”tells me I shouldn’t do it.
