SB diet stage one
I’m glad this diet is working for some, but for the past two days, I
have been feeling miserable while on it. I cannot figure out what to
eat that tastes good!! The book advocates numerous fancy recipes,
which have ingredients that are not commonplace in my house.
Starting with the breakfasts alone, I do not like eggs at all, I have
never eaten them for breakfast, so that kicks out the idea of eating
an omelet or scrambled eggs. Bacon, has never been my forte either,
it always tastes greasy and the turkey bacon just seems to defeat the
purpose with regards to taste. But, if I can’t have orange juice or
fruit or whole wheat toast or cereal then what’s left?? So, all in
all I have been completely skipping breakfast altogether. The only
other things I have been able to make somewhat well and quickly is
taco salad and tunafish on greens, but to be honest, I am getting
sick of mexican food (esp. since I usually love mexican and italian)
when I can’t add tortillas taco shells to the meal, it becomes
pointless. Not to mention, I am tired of eating everything with a
salad–warm foods to me have always been more of a comfort and make
me feel full.
I was planning on making meatloaf until, yet again, I realized
another one of my favorite recipes contains some form of bread. So,
alas I will make meat chili tonight and hope that I go to bed
feeling full, considering that I have felt empty and hungry the last
couple of days and have seemingly become more of a snacker (on the
cheese sticks and sugar free jell-o) than I ever was without the
diet. I’m sorry and don’t mean to depress anyone, but I am having
such a hard time finding things to make that are quick (it takes me 2
hours to learn/make new recipes after all is said and done) and that
is tasty (even with fresh herbs, some of the recipes from the book
taste like they are missing something or just don’t work with my
palatte, I guess).
With eating so much meat and protein, it seems like after eating, I
can barely stay awake and then with taking a nap, can’t go to sleep
at the normal bedtime. I think I’ve been eating more over the past
couple days than I did without the diet. ANY HELPFUL pick me up
would be graciously appreciated….
